Levistor’s laminated advantage
Our unique laminated flywheel design eliminates the need for expensive containment systems found in conventional solid flywheels. This makes it inherently safer and more cost-effective, ensuring reliable, high-performance energy storage for EV charging applications.
Levistor began with a breakthrough from Professor Keith Pullen, a published expert and visionary in flywheel technology. He developed an innovative, inherently safe flywheel system unlike anything else. Designed to meet the demands of the clean energy transition, we recognised its game-changing potential for the way industries store energy, and launched Levistor to bring this advanced technology to the market.
Since then, we've grown and evolved, driven by our mission: to revolutionise energy storage for a net-zero future.
Today, our team continues to push boundaries, offering solutions that are not only first-of-a-kind but also sustainable and scalable. We understand that to drive real change, it needs to work for both the planet and people.
The Levistor team combines deep technical expertise and commercial experience. We are specialists in flywheel technology, high-speed turbomachinery and power systems, supported by four mechanical and electrical engineering PhDs. We also bring experience of three previous company exits.
We’ve invested in advanced prototyping, test and small scale manufacture so we can rapidly develop ideas and drive innovation in design and production.
We’re pleased to be working with Ansys and benefitting from their Startup Programme. We’re fully invested in virtual engineering, multiphysics and optimisation to make game-changing improvements to safety and efficiency of our products.
